A long walk to Greece and the Mediterranean Sea

My name is Lave Thorell and I intend to walk through Europe from Sweden/Poland to Greece by a number of 80 kilometers long legs, 2-4 weeks per year and I hope to reach Thessaloniki sometime ten years or so from now. The start will take place aorund 15 April 2012 in South Sweden (Skåne), where I will walk a test distance of some 75 k. The real start will be in June/July from Gdynia (PL) with my friend Björn-Anders.
Advice and comments are welcome on this blog as suggestions for good walking roads and passages away from motorways and other highways through Poland (2012-2014), Ukraine (2015-2017), Moldavia/ Romania/Bulgaria (2018-2019) and finally Greece (2020+).

  1. I'm glad you have the courage to cross Europe from North to South, the East European countries. It's a journey full of surprises, and unpleasant. It's good to be armed with a camera and filmed in HD, to capture images. It's a dangerous road because sometimes people are more dangerous than wild animals. For countries in the European Union not think you need to have passport to travel to Ukraine and Moldova. I live at 100 km from Chisinau and 5 km from the border with Moldova. If you ride more comfortable bike is.
